The Nord Group

The Nord NC854S G-BCGH has been based at Nayland Airfield since 1986.  She is flown most weekends and is an unusual and interesting aircraft.  From a pilots perspective she is well mannered and a delight to fly. 

G-BCGH was formaly registered F-BAFG and was origanally registered  as a SNCAC [Societe National de Constructions Aeronautique du Centre] NC853.  A Continental A65.8 engine was installed during 1958 which transformed the type into a NC854S.  SNCAN [Nord] took over from SNCAC when the former went into luquidation.

Two of the NC854S were converted for the French Army, leading to an order for 112 observation aircraft designated NC856A.
